It All Belongs to God

"In whose hand are the depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also."
Psalm 95:4

With all of man's knowledge and abilities, he cannot form a majestic mountain or color a meadow as the Lord God does. Our Heavenly Father owns it all and it is only ours to enjoy by His generous grace and love. Thank you, Lord, for sharing all this beauty with us. May You receive all praise and glory.

A Light on My Path

"Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path"
Psalm 119:105

It's so easy to become confused in this rapidly changing world we live in. Popular opinion drives the decisions of so many people. But what happens when views change? When what seemed wrong yesterday is now right simply because "everyone is doing it"? The path we are walking can suddenly become dark and indistinguishable.  But when we go to scripture for our answers instead of following the crowd, the verses we read shed light on our circumstances and show us the best way to go. In a world of uncertainty, we can be certain that God never changes, nor does His word.

No Rock Like Our God

"There is no one holy like the LORD, Indeed, there is no one besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God." 1 Samuel 2:2

1 Samuel 2 records Hannah's thanksgiving prayer. She praises God for opening her barren womb and giving her a son, Samuel. She declares God's uniqueness. Only He is holy, and there is no rock like Him. Rock symbolizes solidity, something that will stand the test of time. So it is with God. He is solid and eternal. He is a Holy Rock. There is no other like our God.

In the Morning

"I rise before dawn and cry for help; I wait for Your words." Psalm 119:47

What a joy it is to wake up in the morning and know that the Lord is waiting for us. In the morning light we can meet with Him and tell Him what's on our minds. If we have a need, we can request His help and then watch in eager anticipation to see what He will do. All praise and honor belong to the God who hears our petitions.
