Pray for the Persecutors

"and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”"
Acts 9:4

On the road to Damascus, Paul (then Saul) the persecutor of Christians is blinded by a bright heavenly light. The voice of Jesus calls out to Saul, repeating his name twice (whenever God repeats a name it denotes strong emotion), "Why are you persecuting Me?"  Saul's actual crime is against God, not man. Whenever someone persecutes a Christian, it's really the Lord they're persecuting. Pray for the persecutors, that God would change their hearts as he did Saul's. And pray for persecuted Christians, that God would protect them.
