Soul Satisfaction

"For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good."
Psalm 107:9

Anyone who has come to the end of himself and found Christ, understands the words of this verse. One may consume the finest drink and choicest morsels at the world's table, but they can never satisfy the thirst and hunger of his soul. That's a spiritual desire that only God can fulfill. Christ calls the parched and starving soul with the words, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst." (John 6:35)  When we come to Jesus, He fills us with the goodness of His spirit and we experience the joy of a relationship with Him. It is soul satisfaction that can't be found anywhere else.

No Excuses

"If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;"
1 John 1:6

If we truly have a relationship with Christ, then we will hate sin. This doesn't mean we won't sin. As long as we're here on earth it's for certain we will. But when we do, we should feel disappointment in ourselves and a desire to talk to God about it; to confess our sin and ask for His forgiveness. Such honesty is pleasing to God and He is more than willing to forgive us (1 John 1:9).  Corrie Ten Boom said, "The blood of Jesus never cleansed an excuse."
