Believe God

"As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him."
1 Samuel 17:48

When the time came for David to battle Goliath, he "ran quickly" to meet him. David didn't shrink back. He was zealous to uphold God's honor, and he moved forward with boldness. The battle was the Lord's and He would deliver the Philistine into David's hands (1 Samuel 17:47). David believed God. Are you facing a spiritual enemy today? Remember, "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). Don't give into fear. Don't shrink back. "Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God (see Eph 6:13-18), so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil" (Eph 6:10-11). Prepare yourself, then run quickly to the battle line with confidence. Believe God.

Brag on the Lord

"I will sing of the lovingkindness of the LORD forever;
To all generations I will make known Your faithfulness with my mouth.
For I have said, 'Lovingkindness will be built up forever;
In the heavens You will establish Your faithfulness.'"
Psalm 89:1-2

Aren't you glad David's psalms are included in the Bible?  With words formed in his heart, he extolled the virtues of the Lord, leaving a written legacy of worship for generations to come. In Psalm 89 David sang of the eternal love and kindness of God. He praised Him for His faithfulness. I want to be like David and brag on the Lord. The Lord, my Redeemer, is full of love and kindness. His faithfulness is as solid as the mountains and as constant as the change of seasons. Your turn.
